Rachel Summers: Professional Pickleball Player on the PPA Tour
Rachel Summers is a professional pickleball player competing on the PPA Tour in women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. She has established herself as a notable competitor in the rapidly growing sport of professional pickleball.
Background & Career
Rachel Summers was introduced to pickleball by her parents in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before embarking on her pickleball career, she played Division III tennis at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia where she was a two-time All-American in singles.
Summers believes her tennis background played a big part in helping her grasp the fundamentals of pickleball so quickly, and then it became more about learning the different strategies of the game.
Her most notable pickleball accomplishment was winning back-to-back Challenger Level MLP Championships as a member of the Bay Area Breakers.
Summers is currently in her fourth year of medical school and a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
